5 Quick Wins to Improve Your GEO Visibility Today

You don't need a full GEO overhaul to start improving your AI search visibility. Here are five things you can do right now that will make a real difference.

GEO isn't always a months-long project. While a full implementation takes time, there are meaningful steps you can take right now that will start improving how AI tools see your business.

Here are five practical, actionable quick wins.

1. Add Organisation schema to your website

If you do nothing else on this list, do this.

Schema markup is structured data — code that you add to your website that tells AI tools (and search engines) exactly what your business is. Without it, AI has to infer your business details from unstructured text. With it, you're giving AI a clear, machine-readable summary of who you are.

At minimum, you want Organisation schema that includes:

  • Your business name
  • Your website URL
  • Your business description
  • Your contact email
  • The services you offer
  • Your geographic service area

This can be added as a JSON-LD script in the head of your website. If you're on WordPress, plugins like Yoast or Rank Math can help. If you're on a custom site, it's a small piece of code that your developer can add quickly.

The impact is immediate — once it's live, AI tools can read it the next time they process your site.

2. Rewrite your homepage description

Most business homepages are written for humans scanning a page. That's fine — but AI tools read differently. They look for clear, direct statements about what a business does.

Ask yourself: if an AI tool read only your homepage, could it accurately describe your business in one sentence?

If not, your opening paragraph needs work. You want something like:

"[Business name] is a [type of business] based in [location] that helps [target customer] with [specific service/product]."

Clear, factual, unambiguous. It sounds basic — but it makes a significant difference to how AI tools understand and describe your business.

3. Create a dedicated FAQ page

FAQ content is gold for GEO. AI tools are specifically designed to answer questions — so when your website directly answers the questions people ask AI tools, you become a natural source for those answers.

Think about the five to ten questions your customers most commonly ask you. Write honest, thorough answers to each one. Structure the page with clear question headings (H2 or H3 tags) and direct answers beneath each one.

Bonus: add FAQPage schema markup to the page so AI tools can read the Q&A structure directly.

4. Audit your consistency across platforms

AI tools build a picture of your business from multiple sources — your website, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, industry directories, review sites, and more.

If these sources say different things about what you do, where you are, or what you're called, that inconsistency weakens AI's confidence in recommending you.

Spend an hour checking:

  • Is your business name identical everywhere?
  • Is your business description consistent?
  • Do all sources agree on your location and service area?
  • Is your contact information the same across all platforms?

Fixing inconsistencies is unglamorous work, but it has a real impact on how clearly AI tools understand your business.

5. Write one piece of genuinely authoritative content

AI tools recommend businesses they consider authoritative. Authority is built through content — specifically, content that demonstrates genuine expertise and answers real questions in depth.

Pick one topic that sits at the heart of what your business does. Write a thorough, honest, well-structured guide on it. Not 300 words of fluff — a real resource that someone would actually bookmark and share.

This won't deliver results overnight. But content authority compounds over time, and one genuinely good piece of content is worth more than ten shallow ones.

Start somewhere

You don't need to do all five of these today. Pick the one that feels most achievable and start there. Schema markup and homepage clarity are the highest leverage — if you only do two things, do those.
